In his last semester of law school, Robert Likarish decided that he was going to enter the whiskey distilling industry instead of practicing law. He and his brother Jonathon opened Ironroot Republic Distillery in 2014. They quickly recruited the help of their mother, Marcia, who has also become known as the Mother of Texas Whiskey. For almost ten years now, the Likarish family has been running and operating a thriving family business and crafting award-winning whiskies.
